Engagement Manager (Beef & Lamb) - Midlands

Covering the Midlands region, we are currently recruiting for an Engagement Manager for our Beef & Lamb sector on a fixed term basis until May 2026. A full UK driving licence is essential with the flexibility to travel across the Midlands.

This key role has responsibility to deliver engagement activity to English Beef & Lamb levy payers, sharing a world class knowledge and information service whilst helping to promote the reputation of AHDB and sustainable farming practices. We are looking for a confident and skilled communicator with knowledge and expertise in the livestock sector, and the ability to facilitate and deliver engagement activities at farmer meetings in the Midlands. This is likely to include the following regions: Shropshire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland and Lincolnshire.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a high personal profile within the industry, developing and maintaining key industry relationships to increase collaborative and effective partnership opportunities for the benefit of levy payers
  • Increase the engagement of, and with, levy payers and stakeholders to deliver against the beef & lamb Engagement Plan in accordance with the AHDB Sector Plan
  • Deliver a wide range of engagement activities to include workshops, on farm events, meetings, webinars and podcasts ensuring engagement is maintained and enhanced within a target audience
  • Support and lead the dissemination of evidence and insight to inform farmers on future trends and emerging issues including those which promote industry reputation
  • Lead on farm projects and trials to increase engagement through our beef & lamb monitor farms or voluntary host farmers
  • Adopt relevant evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of engagement activity to ensure outcomes and impacts are delivered
  • Adopt a two-way communication approach and provide levy payer insight and feedback to the wider AHDB sector
  • Communicate the benefits of AHDB work clearly to the industry, liaising across the sector team and AHDB as appropriate
  • Contribute to sector promotional activities through a varied use of communication and engagement methods including but, not exclusive to, social media where appropriate

Essential Criteria

  • Detailed knowledge of the farming industry experience
  • Experience of facilitating and delivering engagement activities at farmer meetings and high-profile events
  • Skilled communicator able to speak within public domain and write clearly and effectively
  • Confident to collaborate with industry partners from across the sector
  • Results driven individual, with experience of achieving operational targets
  • Team player with the ability to respond to the needs of colleagues across the Engagement team and other AHDB sectors
  • Based in the Midlands region of England with the flexibility to travel
