Head of Digital

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Digital to work on a hybrid basis, two/three days from our HQ in Coventry and the remainder working remotely from home.

The role is pivotal in leading the digital transformation of the organisation and will be responsible for driving a culture change towards modern agile ways of working, automation, and user-centred design principles. We are looking for a dynamic and visionary leader who can engage and inspire both executive and junior teams to embrace digital innovation, whilst developing and executing a comprehensive digital strategy that aligns with our goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive digital strategy that aligns with AHDB's overall goals and objectives, and drives the organisation's transition to modern agile practices
  • Champions automation initiatives across the organisation, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and increase efficiency through technology
  • Promotes and embeds user-centred design principles throughout AHDB, ensuring that digital solutions meet the needs of our stakeholders, including farmers and growers
  • Leads a cultural shift towards digital innovation and agility within the organisation, and fosters a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Engages and inspires individuals and teams to embrace digital transformation and actively contribute to its success
  • Identifies and cultivates strategic partnerships with external organisations, technology vendors, and industry leaders to leverage best practices and drive digital excellence
  • Promotes the use of data analytics and insights to inform decision-making processes across AHDB
  • Develops and implements effective change management strategies to ensure the successful adoption of digital initiatives
  • Manages a dedicated digital team and allocates resources effectively to support the implementation of digital projects

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or significant experience in similar roles
  • Proven track record of successfully leading digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, automation technologies, and user-centred design principles
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage staff at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in driving culture change and fostering innovation
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate digital strategy into actionable plans
