Senior Engagement Manager - Beef & Lamb Sector (Fixed Term Contract)
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Engagement Manager for our Beef & Lamb sector to work nationally across England and manage a team of field-based staff. Flexibility to travel is essential along with a full UK driving licence.
This key role is offered on a fixed term contract until August 2026 and has responsibility to deliver engagement activity to English Beef and Lamb levy payers, managing an essential portfolio of engagement programmes and business workstreams to promote the reputation of AHDB and sustainable farming practices.
We are looking for a confident and skilled communicator who can demonstrate a detailed knowledge and expertise in the livestock sector, whilst leading and inspiring a field-based team to foster connections and drive improvements for the farming industry.

Responsibilities
- Design & lead effective engagement activity by ensuring that sector expertise is maintained and enhanced
- Provide operational and line management of a team of regional engagement staff
- Contribute & lead the development and implementation of the AHDB sector plan and associated engagement plan
- Champion cross sector and cross function ways of working to ensure positive outcomes for levy payers
- Build industry networks and deliver effective key account management within the sector to ensure impactful collaboration
- Provide and maintain high level facilitation of engaging and innovative engagement activity that promotes behaviour change in the industry
- Increase AHDB’s network of ambassadors across the sector to promote the reputation of AHDB and sustainable farming practices
- Champion and record all key levy payer and stakeholder interactions using our CRM database
- Support the sector engagement team with an understanding of the industry landscape including key trends, policy, opportunities and challenges
- Support and lead team management meetings, wider AHDB working groups and staff meetings as appropriate
Essential Criteria
- Hold a relevant Agricultural degree and/or equivalent, with farming industry experience
- Have a detailed knowledge and expertise within the livestock sector
- An experienced or developing leader, used to managing or leading a team
- Significant practical experience of facilitating and delivering engagement activities at industry level
- Confident to work with and lead industry partners from across the sector
- A skilled communicator, capable of speaking within the public domain, and writing effectively and clearly
- Well-developed ability to think analytically, laterally and creatively
- Excellent project management capabilities
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally
